On February, 1960 the hopes and aspirations of many citizens of Northwood and surrounding communities, met with initial reward at the groundbreaking ceremonies for the new addition to Coe-Brown Academy. Through the generosity and insight of the Trustees, and after months of planning, the new building was actually started. The first floor contains the entrance foyer and the spacious gymnasium- auditorium with its large stage and full sized basketball court. The semi-basement area is comprised of a modern science laboratory, three classrooms, a large agricultural shop and boys' and girls' shower rooms. The entire plant is modern and will afford a fine educational atmosphere. This modern plant affords excellent opportunities for approxi- mately 200 students and the introduction of a more varied curricular.
