After getting acquainted with our new members and getting back into the routine of school, we held a class meeting and elected the following class officers: President, Mary Neilsen; Vice-President, Bruce Linscott; Secretary, Linda Burtt; Treasurer, Brenda Smith; Student Council, James Jordan and Carol Farr. We were happy to have Mrs. MacPherson as our class advisor. We were delighted to receive our class rings, although some did not keep them very long. Our candidate for queen for the second annual Coronation Ball was Mary Neilsen. She was crowned queen at the Ball, despite Spencer's last-minute deluge of votes for the freshmen. Carl Billings and James Sherman represented our Junior class in the Senior Play, The Night of January Sixteenth. Our representatives for the Woman's Club Essay Contest were Susan Savard and Carol Farr. Susan Savard won first prize for her short story. « On April 30 the school put on a very successful Minstrel Show under the direction of Mrs. Gfroferer. Edith Twombly, Janet Hoadley, Harriet Goddard, Susan Savard, Everett and Ronald Welch, and the Deerfield Debs represented our class in this event. On May 8 we held our Junior Prom, the theme of which was Moonlight and Roses. Mary Neilsen was chosen queen with Brenda Smith and Harriet Goddard as her aids. Those who participated in sports our Junior year were: Basketball: James Jordan, James Sherman, Bruce Linscott, Everett Welch; Baseball: James Jordan, James Sherman, Ronald Welch, Benjamin DeButts; Soccer: Bruce Linscott, James Jordan, James Sherman, Everett Welch, Ronald Welch; Cheerleading: Mary Neilsen; Softball: Janet Hoadley, Carolyn Hodgdon, Mabel Palmer; and Volleyball: Mabel Palmer.

September 1959 found, us back at CBNA, ready for a busy senior year. We were sorry to have lost Carolyn Hodgdon, Ronald Welch, and Susan Savard, leav- ing us with twenty members. At our first class meeting we elected the follow- ing officers: President, Bruce Linscott; Vice-President, James Jordan; Secre- tary, Mary Neilsen; Treasurer, James Sherman; Student Council, Carol Farr and Benjamin DeButts. Mrs. MacPherson, our class advisor, was soon busy working with us on our float for the Deerfield Fair. World Peace was decided on as our theme. Four students were chosen to ride on the float: James Sherman as Mr. K., Benjamin DeButts as Ike, Lynda Gagne as a Russian girl, and Linda Burtt as an American girl. Thanks go to Mr. and Mrs. Bill Smith for the use of their barn, Mr. Linscott for the use of his truck, and Mrs. MacPherson and the class for spending so much time on the float. We received second prize. Our Senior Play, Family Circle, was the highlight of our senior year. The play was a comedy of the 1920 era. The costumes we wore were something we will never forget. Thanks to the expert direction of Miss Ward and out- standing acting by Edith Twombly and James Sherman, the play was a complete success. Our candidates for king and queen for the third annual Coronation Ball were Benjamin DeButts and Cynthia Stevens. For the second year we took the crown, thanks to the efforts of our salesmen. This year Linda Burtt, Bruce Linscott, and James Jordan were our repre- sentatives in the annual Woman's Club Essay Contest. Bruce Linscott won second prize with his essay, The Story of Flight, and Linda Burtt took third prize with her essay, School Crisis.
