After getting acquainted with our new members and getting back into the routine of school, we held a class meeting and elected the following class officers: President, Mary Neilsen; Vice-President, Bruce Linscott; Secretary, Linda Burtt; Treasurer, Brenda Smith; Student Council, James Jordan and Carol Farr. We were happy to have Mrs. MacPherson as our class advisor. We were delighted to receive our class rings, although some did not keep them very long. Our candidate for queen for the second annual Coronation Ball was Mary Neilsen. She was crowned queen at the Ball, despite Spencer's last-minute deluge of votes for the freshmen. Carl Billings and James Sherman represented our Junior class in the Senior Play, The Night of January Sixteenth. Our representatives for the Woman's Club Essay Contest were Susan Savard and Carol Farr. Susan Savard won first prize for her short story. « On April 30 the school put on a very successful Minstrel Show under the direction of Mrs. Gfroferer. Edith Twombly, Janet Hoadley, Harriet Goddard, Susan Savard, Everett and Ronald Welch, and the Deerfield Debs represented our class in this event. On May 8 we held our Junior Prom, the theme of which was Moonlight and Roses. Mary Neilsen was chosen queen with Brenda Smith and Harriet Goddard as her aids. Those who participated in sports our Junior year were: Basketball: James Jordan, James Sherman, Bruce Linscott, Everett Welch; Baseball: James Jordan, James Sherman, Ronald Welch, Benjamin DeButts; Soccer: Bruce Linscott, James Jordan, James Sherman, Everett Welch, Ronald Welch; Cheerleading: Mary Neilsen; Softball: Janet Hoadley, Carolyn Hodgdon, Mabel Palmer; and Volleyball: Mabel Palmer.
