The class was happy to gain Roberta Chesley, Mary Neilsen, Everett Welch, Ronald Welch, and James Jordan. This increased our class to twenty-eight members. Char first exciting event was planning for the Freshman Initiation which was held on October 10, under the direction of Mrs. Phyllis MacPherson. It was now our turn to have some fun with the freshmen, and fun it was. Mr. Jordan held a meeting in the school auditorium to plan our first Winter Carnival Ball. It was scheduled for March 2, 1958. A candidate for queen was to be chosen from each class. Linda Burtt was selected by our class. We proudly came in second. Most of us were very athletic this year. Those who participated in sports were Softball: Linda Burtt, Janet Hoadley, Edith Twombly, Mabel Palmer, Lynda Gagne, and Carolyn Hodgdon; Soccer: James Sherman, James Jordan, and Bruce Linscott; Basketball: Bruce Linscott, James Sherman, and James Jordan; Baseball: James Jordan, Bruce Linscott, and James Sherman; Cheerleading: Mary Neilsen. Linda Burtt and Bruce Linscott had parts in the Senior Play. Although we started with twenty-three members, we lost Carolyn Hodgdon, Gerald Shepard, Sandra Stack, Carol Young, Janice Young, and Terrence Higgins, thus cutting our membership to twenty-two. At our final meeting of the year we ordered our class rings for delivery in the fall. After our summer vacation we were all eager to see our friends and tell of our many experiences. We were happy to have Carl Billings, Joan Jeralds, Robert Neal, Carolyn Hodgdon, and Susan Savard Join our class. However, during the year we were sorry to lose four of our members: Terry Higgins, » Roberta Chesley, Sandra Elliott, and. Joan Stack.
