“CLASS HISTORY In September of 1956 twenty-seven freshmen entered Coe-Brown Academy to further their education. This was a new experience and it took some time before the class got well acquainted. Meeting the upperclassmen and gaining their friendship was an awesome experience. The first duty of the cla»s was to elect their class officers. We elected . President, Fredrick Twombly; Vice-President, Patricia Clark; Secretary, Lynda Gagne; Treasurer, Brenda Smith; Student Council members, Linda Burtt and James Sherman. Our class advisor was Mrs. Stephanie Call. The participants in the sports were Softball: Edith Twombly, Linda Burtt, Mabel Palmer; Basketball: James Sherman, Bruce Linscott, and Fredrick Twombly; •r Baseball: Bruce Linscott and James Sherman; Cheerleading: Linda Burtt and Brenda Smith. The Debating Class, supervised by Mrs. Stephanie Call, included:' Sandra Elliott, James Sherman, and Bruce Linscott. « Our one big event of this year was the Freshman 'Initiation conducted by the sophomore class. They really enjoyed giving us the works but we weqt along with the fun, and were very co-operative. Before completing our freshman year, our class was very sorry to lose Beverly Gardner, Ethel McKenney, Marion Clark, and Patricia Clark. In the fall of 1957 we returned as sophomores with twenty-three members in our class. In a few days following our return, we held our first class meeting and elected the following officers: President, Bruce Linscott; Vice- President, Fredrick Twombly; Secretary, Linda Burtt; Treasurer, Many Neilsen; Student Council members, James Sherman and Lynda Gagne.
