CLASS HISTORY Freshman Year The class of 1958 entered Coe-Brown Academy in September of 1954 with 19 members. Our first important event was the election of class officers: Acting President: Vice-President: Secretary: Treasurer: Student Council: Scott Piper Scott Piper Linda Gates Kathleen Folsom Linda Gates Jimmy Pender Miss Barbara Dennett was our advisor. Clayton Savard, Mike Bane, Jimmy Pender, and Kenneth Cooper represented the class in basketball. Jimmy Pender and Kenneth Cooper participated in cross country. Our representatives in baseball were Scott Piper, Jimmy Pender, Kenneth Cooper, and Mike Bane. On January 26, we held our first social. Mr. Guy Mann directed us in square dancing and refreshments were served. All who attended en- joyed themselves. Mike Bane represented the class in prize speaking and won first prize. Later during the year we visited the Currier Art Museum in Man- chester. At the end of our first year we were minus two members: Alice Twombly and Fern Welch. Sophomore Year In September of 1955 we came back as sophomores with 19 mem- bers in our class. We gained two new members, Beverly Morrison and Robert Meatty. Our first task was the election of class officers. They were as follows: President: V ice-Presid ent: Secretary: T reasurer: Student Council: Clayton Savard Vincent Bane Sally Bum Kathleen Folsom Linda Gates Jimmy Pender Our class advisor was Mrs. Krause. We had a good representation in the various sports. Linda Gates represented us in volleyball, softball, and cheerleading. Kathleen Folsom and Linda Gates were on the track team at the Deerfield Fair. In basketball, we had Jimmy Pender, Scott Piper, Vincent Bane, and Clayton Savard. Jimmy Pender represented us in cross country. Scott Piper, Jimmy Pender, and Kenneth Cooper were on the baseball team from our class.
