CLASS PROPHECY MASTER OF CEREMONIES - Welcome to the tenth reunion of the class of ’54 of Coe-Brown Northwood Academy. Wouldn’t it be fun to know what each one is doing? As we call on each member, will he please stand and I’ll give the information which we have on them. First of all, we would like to present Carol Hammerstrom, who was the presi- dent of the class. Carol is now Superintendent of Nurses at the Elliot Hospital. She has just been given an award for a new chemical she discovered that will kill all kinds of bacteria. Why, here is Faye Rollins! Hi, Faye! We hear that Faye is living up to the old saying that private secretaries sit on their boss’s knee. Faye is speedy behind the typewriter but it must be her boss, Lyman Hammons, who keeps her busy. Is that right, Faye? Here is Paul O’Neal who owns his own business and who is a skilled electri- cian. He is top man working on the rocket ship which is leaving this week for the moon. Mary Lou Demmons — Mary Lou is teaching first grade in Claremont. She is very busy with her little ducklings but not too busy to have a little spare time for the Navy. Oh, yes, here is Marion Pease, who is leading a very snappy life. She has added another name to hers. Marion is now known as Mrs. Marion Pease Rollins. She and her hubby, Willis Rollins, have their own Well Drilling business and she, by the way, is top secretary. This is Richard Young who is a skilled carpenter. Richard has just remodeled Coe-Brown Northwood Academy and the President of the United States has asked him to do a rush job on his home at the White House. Is that right? If not, please correct me. Here is the head nurse of the United States Marines, Norene Holmes. Norene lias just returned from Russia where her new medicine saved many service men’s lives. Is Dorothea Rollins here? We understand she is the principal of all grade schools in New York. Last week she received the reward as “The Best Teacher cf the Year,” by the Parents. Incidentally, the children think so, too. And last, but by no means least, is Bigelow Wood. He is a skilled draftsman and has just drawn up a set of plans for the making of the submarine, “The Killer,” which will make Bigelow the outstanding man of the year. While the class is talking over old memories, we will leave them with the hope that they will succeed in their ambitions. 13

Article XII: We, Carol Hammerstrom and Dorothea Rollins, leave our senior report cards to “Mr. Holt’s” sophomores. We don’t want you to have to beat your parents to the post office. This is just a WARNING! We think you will know what we mean. Article XIII: We, Mary Lou Demmons and Norene Holmes, leave our ability to get into trouble and then talk our way out of it to Frances McKenna and Roberta Wal- lace. We hope this will do you more good than it did us!! Article XIV: We, Bigelow Wood, Dick Young, Norene Holmes, and Dorothea Rollins, leave to Everett Robinson, Dave Frietas, Shirley Folsom, and Joyce Merrill, our ability to get along together. Come on kids, let’s keep these romances in the classes. Good luck, girls!! Article XV: We, the Senior boys, leave our great height to Lenny Burritt, Merton Twoinbly, and David McClelland. Don’t forget, height is one of the most important fac- tors in becoming a basketball star. article XVI: We, the Senior Class of Coe-Brown Academy, leave our World Problems books. English books, and battle-scarred desks to the Junior Class. All the rest of our broken pencils, used chewing gum, and all our worldly goods of every kind and nature, wherever situated and found, we give and de- vise to and unto students of Coe-Brown Northwood Academy. Given under our hand and seal this eighth day of June in the year of our Lord, one thousand, nine hundred and fifty-four. To Dick we give this little red hankie, So lipstick won’t show and mommie won’t spankie; Of lipstick there’ll never be a trace, Only on your mind and not on your face.
