QQPWV ift. l Cabre gowshis gratitude. Win or lose, the students of Cody High School stood behind their team and coach. The faculty and student body were saddened by the resignation of our coach, Mr. Cabre. The students and faculty showed their appreciation for all that he had done for us by giving him a farewell assembly At the assembly he received a standing ovation, gifts from each class, the basketball team and the faculty. We are all happy to know he is coaching at Northwest Community College. The Students of Cody High School love sports and cherish sportsmanship and have tried to follow to make our school a better place to learn.

3 Coach Hank Cabre Assistant Coach Hunter BA SKET BALL SEA SON The basketball fans of Cody witnessed one of the most exciting seasons ever recorded in Cody High School history. The Broncs rolled up one victory after another, with only one defeat during the sea- son's play. The Broncs opened their pre-season play by traveling to Sheridan and Newcastle to bring back two victories. The next week Rock Springs, the number one team in the state, invaded the Bronc floor. Newspapers around the state declared this the state championship game, but the Broncs fell to defeat with a score of 50-38. The regular season opened with a decisive victory over Greybull with a score of 50-26. The next night Cody went to Basin to bring back another win to add to their victory list. Week after week they rolled up victories with wins over Riverton f52-485, Lander 164-575, Worland C52-463 and Thermopolis C40-393. Now Cody and Lovell were tied for the number one spot in the Big Horn Basin conference. Cody traveled to Lovell to play the most exciting game of the season. lt was a see-saw game with both teams playing their very best, but Cody showed their team's outstanding ability by winning with a 43-40 score. The next week was a black one for the Cody fans because the Broncs fell to defeat at the hands of the Greybull Buffs. They played their hearts out, but were on the bottom end of a 49-52 score. The next night Cody came back to show their ability to win by giving Powell a 45-35 defeat. Again the Broncs started on their winning streak and added one victory after another. The Broncs gave Lander C41-385, Riverton C55-455, Worland C49-463 and Thermopolis Q52-453 defeats. The Lovell game, again, was a tussel in which Cody hardly edged Lovell by 2 points. The game proved to be a defensive game as one could tell by the score of 28-26. Cody handed Basin and Powell both defeats. The Broncs ended their season with a record of 15 wins and 1 loss. This splendid record gave the Broncs the conference championship. Cody went into the tournament the decided favorite especially since the tournament was being held in Cody. The first game was with our rivals - the Powell Panthers. The spirit was riding high, but the Broncs went down to defeat with a 38-41 score. The next day Cody was the play Riverton. But although the Broncettes and fans gave the Broncs their whole hearted support, again the Broncs lost, eliminating them from the tournament. The Bronce kept their heads up high, however, and stood behind their coach all the way. Dick Cloninger, senior member of the Bronc team, was named to the All-District and Ali- State teams named by the sports writers of the state. Also making the All-State team were Chip Ridg- way, Paul Campbell, and Curt Wilson.
