At one o'clock our annual Homecoming parade began with floats representing each class and organi- zation. During the parade, Mr. Nielson of Husky Oil supplied his plane and pilot to scatter pep leaflets over the town. Besides inducing enthusiasm, it was quite an effective display and was enjoyed by all. The villain was booed and the Goody-Goody girls were cheered. qi' There were feelings of anticipation and high spirits as Cody High students began their Homecom- ing activities. The Broncettes and cheerleaders provided the morning's entertainment with a rousing pep rally and play. The play, an old-fashioned melodrama, was entitled With the Help of Broncetta, Cody Bronc Never Fails. lt featured such songs as Tom Dooley, My Baby Loves a Western Movie, A Sweet Old- Fashioned Girl, and The French Can-Can, The l 'lllll 'V Sym.. HV N, . victors and put everyone in good spirits for the dance. This dance was held in the gym lobby, and was an enjoyable climax to the many hours of hard work and preparation for the highly successful Homecom- ing of 1958. Keep working frosh--by the time you're seniors you might have a good float. The seniors felt their float rated first but the judges ruled it second. As the evening approached, the spirits of the day soared to a new height as Cody faced Thermo- polis in the Homecoming game. Although the field lights were pampered by ice-packs they went out continuously, leaving the field in darkness. The half-time ceremonies were highlighted by the crown ing of the queen, who was centered within a heart formed by the blue flashlights of the Broncettes. The final score of the game, 14-6. found Cody the The seniors still haven't gotten over the horrible fact that this took first. nf' .
