SKI TEAM Ski Program The ski program, even though it was no longer a competitive interscholastic sport, opened up to include any student of intermediate or better ability. It was made available for those who like to improve his or her skiing technique. The program emphasized down hill skiing, racing and run- ning gates, care of skis, and cross country skiing. Conditioning exercises and soccer were used two days a week to get in shape for skiing at the Snow Bowl on Friday afternoons. The team was coached by Larry Peterson, a new teacher at Coconino this year. Both men and women participated in this sport, and seemed to enjoy it throughout the season.
