B A S IIB T B A L L At the opening of the '4?e '48 basketball season, Carmen Rose was elected Captain. The team opened the season with tive straight wine. The next gems sae with Tygert Valley and we lost the game on our home court. The teen won five more in a rom, end then lost one to Tygert Valley on their floor. Tzgert Valley was the onli teen that defeated as wise. liter their seoon victory, Us lost three games in e row. We finished the season by winning over the Elkins 'BW team at Elkins. we h d e good season with thirteen games won a d five lost. We traveled to the sectional tournament at Ihile ippi and lost out to Elkins in the first round. Carmen Rose was honored by making the F111 Tourne- m nt Teamu. The team wen the honor of being the 'Best Spartan. The Junior HL team had equal success, having e season with twelve wine and two lessee. Prospeots are good for the next year, with Freshmen and Soph- omores oonung up to replace the graduating seniors.
