4 sei. f'.?:.5e. Looking Towards the Future IV. and rosh Teams Have A Good Year. This past year has been one of the best for Junior Varsity basketball. The season started off rocky, with many players being injured from playing football. As the season progressed, the team finally began to get their act together, with the help of Alfred Perez, a sophomore who had started the season as a Varsity basketball player, Alfred Perez was often the leading scorer of the team. Other consistent players on the team were Ron Alford and Armando Acosta. When league play ended the team acquired a record of 7-3. As they went into the last game of the season, they were tied with Calexico for the league lead, with the championship being decided at Calexico. The Arabs had their high hopes, but fell short in points. The Bulldogs won, and sadly the fighting Arabs settled for second place. The Freshman team also had a great season. There was much team work in their victories, as they gained a season's record of 7-11. They placed third in the league. Consistent players for the team were IVlarty Holguin, Omar Ortega, and Luis Garcia. 56 Athletics JEMS'
