Cheerleaders kept the Arab spirit going strong. They did a variety of routines to entertain our student body at games and rallies. It all began when ten girls were selected by the student body, not counting the four Freshmen who were selected by a group of judges. There are hve Varsity Cheerleaders, four J.V. and four Frosh. 1 Delilah and Kara doing one of their stunts. 2 Co-Heads forthe Varsity Cheerleaders are lVlilissa Ahrens and Vickie Armendariz. 3 Cheer and Song look on with the crowd. 4 JV Cheerleaders practicing before a game. 5 We really are I ll 6 Freshmen Cheerleaders from left to right are Linda Otton, Cathy Farrister, Crystal Jackson, and Debbie Lopez. 7 Christina may be small but has a lot of spirit. 8 Freshmen Cheerleaders show spirit during a Basketball Game, 9 J.V. Freshmen Strived For Success The Freshman Football team had a good season this year. Charles Serrano, Pedro Hernandez, and Javier Avila were the tri-captains. Finishing the season with a 6-2-1 win-lost record. Having such a large turnout for the team, hopes are for the experience and the number of many fine young athletes rounding out the squad this year, talent is promising for the coming years for the C.V. Arabs. Head coach was Doug lVlurphy. 1 Coaches: For this season were, Doug Hashimoto, Head Coach Doug lVlurphy, and Joe Ceja. 2. Arab Freshmen show enthusiasm after a touchdown. 3. Omar Ortega C133 runs away from tacklers to gain some tough yardage. 4. Coaches Doug Murphy and Doug Hashimoto give quarterback Javier Avila C117 the plays for the next series.
