Films, special speakers, and classroom discussions have been part of some History classes, which have made the learning more interesting. The biggest thing that happened in the Social Studies Department was the Elm contract that was cancelled by the Riverside County Schools which meant less Elms for the History classes at C.V. ' 1 Taking over as the new head of the History Department was Nlr. Ben Lopez who teaches Social Studies and is a Soccer coach. 2 lVlr. Luhman who teaches Social Studies relaxes during lunch at the ROP Restaurant. 3 lVlr. Otto teaches Social Studies and is advisor of the Geneology Club. 4 Students enjoy spending time with Mr. Bellomo, Yearbook and Senior Class Advisor. 5 If Spanish is the subject then Dr. Fernandez is the expert here at C,V. 6 lVlrs. Hertel teaches E.S.L. and is President of the Faculty Club, 7 Teaching Social Studies is lVlr. Nick Ramos who also is Varsity Football Coach, J.V. Wrestling Coach and Wrestling Club Advisor. The world of facts and figures is one of CV's most dedicated departments. Beginning in a student's Freshman year with Basic lVlath and Science, all the way up to Physics-Calculus in his Senior year.
