N Ammmmw ' 4, ol Dear Seniors: Each class that graduates from Clymer Central School leaves its mark and helps to build, bit by bit, the long and honorable tradition that becomes the heritage of succeeding classes. As I reflect upon the character- istics ofthe Class of 1977, I feel that the terms cohe- siveness and responsibility best summarize your con- tribution to Clymer Central School. It is not that you are without individuals who have distinguished them- selves academically, service-wise, athletically, and in other areas, for, like any group, there are those whose contributions stand out. Rather, it is your ability to pull together that distinguishes you as a class. Indi- vidually you are sensitive to the needs of the group and are responsibly willing'to put forth the effort to reach your collective goals. These traits are worthy ones which have served you well and undoubtedly will continue to do so. By your efforts and example you leave them as a legacy to future classes. May God Bless! The Clymer Central School Student Council provides for a democratic school government through representation of the stu- dent body in school, community and state affairs. In the past they have sent delegates to the state convention in Albany, and sponsored scholarships and educational trips for various students of C.C.S. The council is the backbone for such service projects as the new school store, the Treasure Chest, the annual spirit week activities, and the photographing of individual school pic- tures. Its basic purpose is to establish standards of education, school spirit, and honor. X On top: Becky Schenk, Treasurer, Nancy Querreveld, President, Bottom: Renee TeWinkle, V. Nancy Eliason-May Queen Clymer Central is a unique school, in that each spring it holds a very special ceremony, May Day. Last year the honor of being chosen May Queen was bestowed on Nancy Elia- son. The girls chosen as rep- resentatives to escort Nancy and to present her with gifts were Nancy Querreveld, Laura Lepkowski, and Rochelle Ea- ton. After a beautiful aftemoon of flowers and fun, the ceremony ended with the winding of the May Pole by the fourth grade girls. PM As the United States celelyated its bicentennial, Clymer celebrated its sixteenth annual Tulip Fes- tival. It was held on a sunny day in May, which brought thousands of people to see the beautiful floats, street scrubbers, Klompen dancers, and bands. The candidates and their sponsors created floats to the theme of Let Freedom Ring. In the evening Tena Beckerink was chosen Tulip Queen of 1976. Kathy Weeks was chosen first runner-up, Sherry TeCu1ver second runner-up, and Louann TeWinkle Miss Congeniality. I I ' Tulip Queen: Tena Beckerink Who put THAT in my bucket'?! By the time they had finished the traditional banquet, the sky had tumed its deepest blue, the couples were well into a memorable evening of excite- ment, and dancing in the moonlight to the music of Flight 602. At the stroke of midnight, the royalty were named to reign over the garden for the remainder of the evening.
