Mendy Miller learns English Barbara Arnold seems to be through osmosis. an early bird. ALIVE BUT. . . NOT AWAKE lVIe and my red BMW, what a combination! Who would of thought that I - BZZZ -for once I would like to finish a dream, just once. Ever since I took zero hour all my dreams seemed to be interrupted. 6:00 - l've got to get up! Overdosing my body with caffeine and sugar, I went through the monotonous morning routine of getting dressed. For some reason 7:30 just didn't seem like the ideal time to start the day, es- pecially with English! There was no way this body was ever going to get used to this, or my eyes - the moon was still out! Driving to school by the pale moonlight was not good. Arriving at school I saw there would be no problem in getting a parking space, considering there were only 12 cars in the parking lot. Beating the principal to school didn't boost my spirit. Right then I could tell this class was going to be different. I was right, class was very different. We di- agrammed sentences, worked on research pa- pers, and read historic literature while we watched the sun rise and listened to a rooster crowing. This caused many to doze in class, in- cluding me. I could still hear the magic sound of that red BMW's engine roaring. VRO0M! VROOIVII CCopy by LaDonna Bolesj 7
