CLASS FLOWER Blue Carnation CLASS COLORS Blue and Silver SENIOR CLASS HISTORY About 1937 a great event occurred! The graduates of '55 were born. We started out in the first grade with Miss Wehr, Miss Cleveland, and Mrs. Grey as our teachers. In the second grade we had our great toy band and most of us had Miss Bertha as our teacher. In the third grade We were playing high water, low watern and had lots of fun going to the movies and, Oh! How the boys enjoyed crawling under their seats and scaring the girls! You should have heard those girls squeal! This year is when We were really just beginning to Write. A new subject came up in the fourth grade -Geography! with Miss Rule as our teacher. About this time is when we began to play Chase and having loads of fun, especially when the boys caught the girls, fremember what happenedj ? This year We also had lots of fun when we Went to the zoo in Toledo. Mrs. Greek liked to read us stories in the sixth grade, and liked us to try to touch our toes so she could exercise her paddle. What about the time when We were all busy pick- ing up the beads that Mrs. Greek had lost from her necklace! By the way, how about some of the coinci- dences when Don Taylor's tongue froze to the slide on the play ground and Tom Smith's froze to something else. Wasn't it Donnie Taylor Who also took all the boys' pants? What a disaster! !

Senior Class History Then finally, we made the long trip be- tween the two buildings into the high school building where we thought we were really DOOMED. Mr. Moist helped most of us and tried to get us situated and to boost our morale. Boys, do you remember when Miss Van Thorn tried to paddle Bill Rathbun all the time, but she never did get around to it, and when Phil Broad put salt in her tea? In the seventh grade, the girls gave our teacher and the home room mothers a dinner. This year is when we also produced our great operetta Sourwood Mountain. And how much fun we had with it! We were very unfortunate to lose one of our members, Gary Strecker. We were now in the eighth grade and had lots of fun, especially the hayride we had. At last we entered our first year of Senior High. We were the great Freshmen of Clyde High. We thought We were big, but there were still three other grades towering over us, which we had to conquer. We began to havf' some big parties and some money- .V -king ordeals. That year, for the Junior Prom, most of us signed up to serve, and the Juniors drew the names from a hat. Those lucky ones were: Carolyn Mesnard, Virginia Mesnard, Sonja Norman, Carol Rakes, Phil Broad, Roger Kuns, Lowell McRobi. 7. and Tom Smith. As Sophomores, we had a new, interesting subject, Biology! And can you remerr' er those great cats? Ugh! This year our World History class went to the Toledo Museum. By the Way, do you remember when Carol Grey cut her hand? We finally reached the year we had been waiting for, the Junior year. We sold so many things this year to build up our treasury for the Junior Prom, amon'g which were: Moth- er's Day Cakes, Christmas Wreaths, and plenty of bake sales. With all the money we had earned in our past years, we gave the great Junior-Senior Prom, with the theme being, A Night in Granada. We also gave the great Junior Class Play, Room for One More, which was a huge success. This is the year when we received our beautiful Junior Class Rings. ln the middle of the year all the Juniors along with the Seniors went to Gib- sonburg High for the Annual Career Day. Here is the year! Our Senior year, which in this year, the S standing for Salesmen! We sold billfolds, season basketball tickets, book covers and gave movies, bake sales and dances. We won S50 for being the highest class of salesmen in the annual magazine drive. After many of our football games we had a lot of parties and oh, the fun! Our Senior Play to be presented is entitled, The Man Who Came to Dinner. Remember the first night of play practice when Mary Atkins dropped her glasses in the sewer up- town? We are hoping for a successful play and looking forward to the Senior Assembly and the wonderful Senior Class Trip. We shall graduate this year of 1955 and in leaving, all the seniors from A to Z will miss good ole' Clyde High and look back on it as memories to remember and to thank every- one for the fine education and co-operation that was given to us. We all can truly say, We've had a wonderful time. We hate to say good-bye, so we will just say, We'll be seeing you!
