A while before the Prom, we presented our tirst three-act play to the public. This play was titled My Man Godfrey. The cast members were Lee Smith, Arra-Etta Denman, Janice Har- bick lwha became ill with mumps and was replaced by Pat Kishenl, Wanda Bailes, Ellen Niere, Nick Goldman, Shirley Mclielvey, Neal Williams, Sally Boutan, Mac Wright, Jim Burke, Max Bishop, Randeau Fenner, and Dave Scall. This play also provided money to help with the Prom expenses. Dur- ing this year a marked change came about in our class parties: girls and boys no longer occupied separate sections ot the room. Now the big event of the year was coming claser. This big event was the Prom that we were giv- ing the graduating Seniors. The Prom sub-committee chairmen in- cluded Rosie Espinoza, Arra-Etta Denman, Gene Zellmer and Phil Parks. The general chairmen were Camille Pelletier and David Scatl. All decorations were made by the committee members. The Junior-Senior Prom was held in the Marigald Ball Room, alias Cinderella's Ball Room. As our Junior year was coming to an end, some students were thinking about the future Stu- dent Body altices. Those elected were Max Bishop, Presidenty Bud- dy Waggoner, Vice-Presidentg Ca- mille Pelletier, Commissioner ot Social Aliairs, Nancy Williams, Treasurer, Virginia Johnsen, Com- missioner oi Girls' Athletics, James Morris, Commissioner ol Boys' Athletics, and Randeau Fenner, Yell Leader. of school. Thus our Junior year ended. On September l3, l954, 230 of us began our almighty year at Clovis High. We then felt as if we were on top of the world, because we were finally the ex- alted ones The open assembly was brought to order by Student Body Presi' dent ,Max Bishop, Each member of the faculty was introduced by the head of his department. The remaining Student Body Officers then introduced themselves. Mr. Lee Clark and Mr. W. T. Atkin mentioned a few of the rules and regulations, These were mainly addressed to the Fresh- men and the transfer students. lt was lust like every other year 4b-ut so different this time. We elected Ronnie Smith as our President Kenneth Standley, VicefPresident- Janet Shoharo, Secretary and treasurer: Ruben Borrios, Bays' Athletic Manager, Burline Mabry, Girls Athletic Manager, and Sally Bouton and Barbara Price, Yell Leaders. Within a week everyone had almost settled down to the reg- ular routine of school. That is, everyone but a few of the green ones who still hadn't exploited the territory. Gosh, they're get- ting smaller every yearl We were never that little, it seems.
