Our theme this year is ‘‘New ideas with old beginnings.’ We have combined what we feel have been previous book's assets, and have added our own touches which we feel have greatly increased the appeal of our book. This is a very special book, which should be handled with care. In it are all of the memories of the school year which will only become more and more valuable with the passing years. Read it, cherish it, and when you are through, next year’s annual staff would greatly appreciate any suggestions or comments. Thanks, Pam Sutherland Editor Our 1980 The Annual Staff dedicates this 1980 Knight to Mr. Paul Adkins. Throughout the years, we’ve stuck together when the going got tough, as well as when we were on the top of the world. When our prom looked disastrous, and when our floats needed at least two more weeks of construction, we always managed to get our act together. Somehow we turned out some of the best floats and one of the 30 —— to Each Other finest proms C.H.S. had ever seen. The 1980 Graduating Class has built quite an impressive reputation for setting high goals and reaching them! We always strived for perfection in academics and athletics, as well as in our extracurricular activities. No matter how many miles pass between us, we will never forget the wonderful memories we've shared at Clintwood High, and we'll always stay together in our hearts. 31 32 Famous Last Words Junior Branham — The hardest goals to reach in life are the ones that you want the most. While the girls were building their impressive record of accomplishments, they gathered a rather large following of fans. A lot of hard work and dedication by the coaches, players, fans, scorekeepers, and clock operators contributed to their success. Even Wonder Wave dropped in one night to offer her help, but Coach Deel had things under control. Joy and pride clearly shine in the faces of all the people connected with the team.
