Mr. Charles Green and Mr. Wayne Cole teach industrial arts at C.C.H. S. Mr. Green received his B. S. degree from Eastern Illinois University. Mr. Cole acquired his B. S. and M.S. degrees from Eastern Illinois University. Mrs. Ruth Briggs and Mrs. Lois Hieronymus are homemaking teachers at C.C.H. S. Mrs. Briggs received her B. E. degree from Illinois State Normal University and took graduate courses at the University of Chicago, Eastern Illinois University, and the University of Illinois. Mrs. Hieronymus received a B. S. degree from Illinois State Normal University and a M. S. degree from Millikin University. 29

Mr. Kenneth Baker received his B. S. degree at Eastern Illinois University. He teaches driver training and physical education. Students enrolled in driver training complete six weeks of classroom study before taking a written test for their permit. If the test is passed successfully, students complete six hours of training behind the wheel before taking the actual driving test. Students must be sixteen years of age before any of this training may be undertaken. Miss Christine Kareotes, who teaches junior and senior English, received her B. A. degree at Millikin University. Miss Adaline Hull, who teaches freshman English, received her M. E. degree at the University of Missouri. Mrs. Winifred Rhoades, instructor of senior English, is also head of the English Department. She received her B. S. at I. S.N. U. and her M. A. at the University of Illinois. Mrs. Helen Allen teaches sophomore English. She received her B. A. degree at the University of Illinois. Mrs. Joan Stout, instructor of junior English, received her B. S. degree at Western Illinois University. 28

Mrs. Lorene McKelvey received an A. B. degree at McKendree College. She is pictured with one of the student librarians. Mrs. McKelvey helps students make use of the various library materials. The acquisition and organization of materials used by high school students, as well as help in the use of such materials, is the function of the library. The coaching and physical education staff includes: Mr. Lawrence Curl, B. S. -Illinois State Normal University, M. S. -University of Illinois; Mr. Kenneth Robbins, B. Ed. -Illinois State Normal University, M. Ed. -University of Illinois; Mrs. Dolores Kratz, B. S. -Southern Illinois University; Mr. Hunter, B. S. -Greenville College. These teachers encourage participation in sports of all kinds. They supervise G.A. A. and the various school sports.
