Mr. Kenneth Baker received his B. S. degree at Eastern Illinois University. He teaches driver training and physical education. Students enrolled in driver training complete six weeks of classroom study before taking a written test for their permit. If the test is passed successfully, students complete six hours of training behind the wheel before taking the actual driving test. Students must be sixteen years of age before any of this training may be undertaken. Miss Christine Kareotes, who teaches junior and senior English, received her B. A. degree at Millikin University. Miss Adaline Hull, who teaches freshman English, received her M. E. degree at the University of Missouri. Mrs. Winifred Rhoades, instructor of senior English, is also head of the English Department. She received her B. S. at I. S.N. U. and her M. A. at the University of Illinois. Mrs. Helen Allen teaches sophomore English. She received her B. A. degree at the University of Illinois. Mrs. Joan Stout, instructor of junior English, received her B. S. degree at Western Illinois University. 28

Mr. Clyde Fry, instructor of agriculture, received his B.S. and M. S. degrees at the University of Illinois. Four years of agriculture are offered at C. C. H. S. Affiliated with the Business Department of C.C.H. S. are Miss Ruth Brenneman, Mrs. Lotella Cole, Mr. Angelo Abbott, and Mr. Paul Harden. Miss Brenneman attended I.S. N. U. , the University of Colorado, University of Illinois, and University of Wyoming. She received her B. S. at I. S. N. U. and her M. S. at the University of Illinois. Mrs. Cole received her B. S. degree at Southern Illinois University in Carbon-dale, Illinois. Mr. Abbott received his B. S. degree at I. S. N. U. in Normal, Illinois. Mr. Harden received his B. S. degree at Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, Illinois. Subjects offered in this department are typing, personal typing, business law, consumer economics, clerical office practice, secretarial office practice, shorthand, bookkeeping, and general business. 27

Mr. Charles Green and Mr. Wayne Cole teach industrial arts at C.C.H. S. Mr. Green received his B. S. degree from Eastern Illinois University. Mr. Cole acquired his B. S. and M.S. degrees from Eastern Illinois University. Mrs. Ruth Briggs and Mrs. Lois Hieronymus are homemaking teachers at C.C.H. S. Mrs. Briggs received her B. E. degree from Illinois State Normal University and took graduate courses at the University of Chicago, Eastern Illinois University, and the University of Illinois. Mrs. Hieronymus received a B. S. degree from Illinois State Normal University and a M. S. degree from Millikin University. 29
