This group was to be known as, The Class of 19U9. Miss Sternberg was our capable adviser during the Freshman year. Martha Moots, Jim Williams, Bob Callison, and Bill Mahoney were the members of the Freshman Council. Our first high school party was held in the gymnasium. Chauncey McCrory captured both prizes: - one for having the best signatures of upperclassmen and the other for the best costume. Can anyone ever forget the Freshman Assembly? That chorus line was really somethingJ In the fall of 191 6, some of us decided to grow up, and become Sophomores. During this year, Martha Moots, Mary Jane Jackson, Bob Callison, and Jim Williams were the members of the Sophomore Council. Miss Marshall was our adviser this year. Juniors at last----things began to happen then. Lyle Sharp, Jim Bishop, Virginia Lisenby, and Dorlene .Yarrick were our class officers. Miss Fort was our adviser. This year marked one of the most successful junior plays of past years. The title was A DATE WIT;! JUDY, JoAnn Armstrong played the starring role of Judy. Then the Junior-Senior Prom. Decorations were in the theme of the Stork Club-some high class entertainment from Hollywood was schelduled (but was replaced at the last momentJ) All in all, it was a grand affairJ In the fall of 191 8, most of us turned up as dignified seniors. We sure felt high and mighty. Jim Williams, Beverly McConnell, Mema Morrow and Donna Eaton were the class officers. A few of the memorable occasions in sports during this year was: John Luttrell's 1 8 foot shot during the Chenoa basketball game, and Dale Tucker winning recognition in the All-State lineup and receiving the Most Valuable Player Trophy. Marilynn Banks was selected to be our representative of the D.A.R.'s. Then came our Senior rlay, STRANGE BOARDERS . Donna Eaton played the starring role of Cordelia. The juniors entertained us at their gala prom and then-------those last days of our career here in CCHS, Baccalaureate, Class Night, and finally, last but not least, Graduation. I 3 % £ r 'A JiJTZZ 7
