As you journey on the sea of education and look back over the horizon, your former school fades from view. It brought you many pleasant memories, but so has your freshman year. The officers chosen by the freshmen “plebs were fane Ruth Gustafson and George Herrick, co-chairmen; Mary Alice Luker, Mary Margaret Lawler, and Coleman Harris, the assisting officers. The student body bestowed an honor on one of your freshmen mates, Hazel Sue Hemmick, by electing her as a member of the Student Cabinet. The plebs out for athletics were Raymond Tate, Bob Myers, and Bill Garvin. The music department was pleased with the honors awarded to Mary Ann Moots, winning first division in the state band solo contest, and to Charles Campbell, winning first division in the state vocal contest. At the freshman meetings, scheduled the fourth Monday of every month, the members have had an opportunity to exhibit a wide variety of talent. The “budding socialites enjoyed a class party—one hilarious evening of dancing and bunco. The excellent assembly program on the etiquette and history of our flag has been highly commended by the student body. Miss loote is the efficient adviser of the freshman class.
