It isn’t until they are gone that we begin to realize how much they meant to us and the part that they played in our lives. Memories come to mind of happy times gone by. When you part front your friend, you grieve not; For that which you love most in him may be clearer in his absence, as the mountain to the climber is dearer from the plain. We are proud to dedicate this yearbook to the memory of Mark An- thony Mulvihill, one of our friends and fellow classmates, who was taken front us on July 5, 1979. quote taken from the Prophet yjYhii 1° Cjoar €txr-k 06£ V LS'C bet ftyfK o.- e T FriCr 6 • . When An- thony Milograno came to Clinton in 1954, he was the entire music department. Teaching violin, he formed Clinton's first orchestra. He was also respon- sible for making Clinton the first school in the area to present an annual spring musical, of which he has been the conductor of all twenty. Mr. Milograno has served as chorus master intermittently during his twenty-seven years at Clinton, and yearbook advisor the past six. We have been privileged by the presence of such a talent in our school system. Outside his teaching work, Mr. Milograno has been concert master of the Utica Symphony and director of the MVCC or- chestra, Utica Civic Concert Band, and Pompeii Player’s orchestra of Syracuse. He has appeared in recitals at Hamilton College, Syracuse University, Munsun Williams Proctor Institute, andthe Kirkland Art Center. His skills as a musician and as a teacher have inspired several Clinton students to pursue music as a career and to excel! especially in the violin. The yearbook staff and the entire student body and faculty say thank you and best wishes for success and happiness in the future. A comrade blithe and full of glee, Who dares to laugh out loud and free, And let his frolic fancy play, Like a happy child, through the flowers gay That fill the field and fringe the way W here he walks a mile with me. And who will walk a mile with me Along life's weary way? A friend whose heart has eyes to see The stars shine out o'er the darkening lea, And the quiet rest at the end o' the day, — A friend who knows, and dares to say, The brave% sweet words that cheer the way W here he walks a mile with me. W ith such a comrade, such a friend, 1 fain would walk till journeys end, Through summer sunshine, winter rain, And then? — Farewell, we shall meet again! Henry van Dyke
