DEDICATION To express our thanks for all he has done for us and for the school, we the Class of 1961, dedicate the 1961 Clintonian to Mr. Elmer Morgan. Mr. Morgan, better known as Coach, has inspired us with feelings of sportsmanship and school spirit. His familiar talks” at the pep rallies and Award Assemblies have instilled us with a will to try harder and play fairer. Through his constant willingness to help the youth of our Com- munity, he has rendered an invaluable service. During the school year he coaches our school teams; during the summer he supervises recre- ation at the swimming pool. His familiar pacing on the football field and his watchful eye as coach and teacher have made him a person we will long remember. Coach, the Class of 1961 says, Thank you.

IN APPRECIATION - MISS GRIFFIN To future ages mayst thou stand, Untouched by the rash workman’s hand. Till that large stock of sap is spent, Which gives thy summer’s ornament: Till the fierce winds, that vainly strive To shock thy greatness whilst alive, Shall on thy lifeless hour attend, Prevent the axe and grace thy end, Their scattered strength together call And to the clouds proclaim thy fall, Who then their evening dews may spare, When thou no longer art their care, But shall, like ancient heroes, hum And some bright hearth be thy urn. — Lady Winchilsea
