The CLINTONIAN PRESENTED BY CLASS OF I960 Josephine DesJardins Editor-in-Chief Clinton Central School Clinton, New York ALMA MATER Faithful and true-hearted, Let us cheer our dear old High. We revere her and defend her, As her colors proudly fly. We will stand for her united; Of her deeds we gladly tell. Her colors streaming, Glad faces beaming, So here’s a cheer for her That we all love so well. Joyous and ever loyal, Let us cheer our dear old High. Let every heart sing; Let every voice ring; There's no time to grieve or sigh. It’s ever onward Our course pursuing May defeat ne’er our ardor cool. So, united we will cheer for her Our old high school. Where there is much light, the shadows are deepest, Goethe J. W. Boynton Clinton Courier, Inc. Dedication To express in a small way our gratitude for all that she has done for us, we, the Class of I960, dedicate our Clintonian to Miss Isabel Howlett. Through her vast knowledge and personal interpretation, Miss Howlett has given history real meaning and has communicated to us her own sincere faith in democracy. We watch the newspapers as never before for history in the making. Unforgettable are the written recitations, the friendly discussions, the Mugwumps, and the hysterical Historical Club meetings and trips. Those whom Miss Howlett will teach in the future have a real experience to which they can look forward; those whom she has taught have one to remember. Words can only partially ex- press our feeling when we say, Miss Howlett, thank you. Dr. Joseph Katz Dr. Katz will be remembered, not only as a doctor, but as our friend and companion. We knew him as the school doctor, giving physicals and shots,” being right there at games to reassure in case of injury, or working with us at the pool. His courage, perseverance, and simple love of life were shown at his office, in school, and around the community. Words cannot express how much Dr. Katz meant to us, nor describe the imprint he has left on our lives. A faithful friend is the medicine of life. rate-- In Memory Board of Education First Row: Mrs. Fredrick Goodwin, Dr. James Compson, Mrs. Landon Rockwell, President; Mr. Stanley Germond. Dear Miss Welch, Since you retired in the same manner as you do so many things — without fuss or fanfare — we are taking this way to wish you well. We know we never really thanked you for all you did for us. You brought us through decimals and square roots with flying colors — our class had eighteen one-hundreds” on the math regents! You initiated the custom of eighth grade dances with our class to provide more social life. Your quick sense of humor and adeptness for telling tales, tall or true, made our classes most enjoyable. Most im- portant, however, you instilled in us a sense of pride in our school which has lasted throughout our high school days. Though you have retired and we graduate, your guidance and friendly understanding during our junior high school years will not be forgotten.
