)nDS H O I H 3 30VX0 SO S NQ1J113 Through These Doors From our first timid steps through the doors of Clifton Springs Central School to our last march out on graduation night, we have matured, hopefully, from children to young adults. We, the Cliftonian staff of 1967, would like to show in this yearbook the knowledge, friendships, and responsibility which we have gained as we passed “through these doors.” 2 TABLE OF CONTENTS SENIORS 13 FACULTY 27 CLASSES 37 ORGANIZATIONS And ACTIVITIES 47 SPORTS 59 EDUCATION -to discovery 4 the door the Key to Friendship “A PLEASANT YEAR” Last falir shortly after the Fahy family moved to Clifton Springs after nine years in Middle-port, the theme of this message was that coming to Clifton was like coming home again. We were strangers and you accepted us, asking only that we accept you in return. This it has been easy to do. We were received with a warmth and cordiality which left nothing to be desired. You know, I am the city boy in the Fahy clan. Mrs. Fahy comes from a comparatively small town (East Rochester) and Judy, Kerry and Kevin came to Clifton via East Rochester and Mid-dleport. We all agree that Clifton Springs is home to us now and we hope that it will be for many years to come. Just for the record, let me sum up Clifton Springs as the Fahys found it during their first year here..Like all of you we had our problems—some of them pretty serious—during the school year 1965-66. But the people in the community—friends, neighbors, colleagues and board members, even chance acquaintances—went out of their way to be kind, courteous and helpful. All in all, of my years in the school business (more than I care to remember) I can gratefully say, “This has been the most pleasant year yet.” 8 Administration George D. Because he helped us to learn, to live, and to laugh. We dedicate this year’s Cliftonian to MR. FRANK GOODROW SENIORS Our AFS Student It is a gift to be able to capture a heart with a smile, a wink, or a friendly, sincere “good morning.” Desiree Fullarton the 1966-67 addition to Clifton Springs growing A.F.S. family, has managed to win the affection of the entire community since her arrival last July. Desiree came to us from Salisbury, Rhodesia, and spent this year with the Platzer family. She has been an enthusiastic member of the class of 1967, giving a polished performance in the Senior Play. In November, Desiree accompanied us on an unforgettable Washington Trip. She has been an active member of the Jr. A.F.S. Club, done volunteer work at the hospital, and braved the cold with the ski club. It has been a pleasure to have such a sparkling, vivacious student at Clifton Springs Central School. 14 Senior Class Officers Class History Every Clifton Springs Senior will tell you that 1967 was a very good year. 67 will long he remembered as the conclusion of our enriching high school years. As we look back, we recall many notable accomplishments. Unforgettable experiences were the productions of our Junior Play, “Cheaper By the Dozen,” and our Senior Play, “The Egg and I.” Our Junior Prom, “Moonlight and Roses,” also proved rewarding. We conducted a veiy successful magazine campaign, shattering all previous sales records. All these activities did much more than simply provide funds for our trip to Washington. Through these activities we learned to work together and to cooperate. We came to know and understand each other more fully. Together we surmounted many obstacles and achieved many goals. Together we traveled to Washington and came home with memories of a fun-filled and worthwhile experience. When we reach graduation we will customarily say “Thank heavens it’s over,” but we will never fail to appreciate everything our high school years have done for us. As we follow our separate paths in life, we will carry with us memories; memories of all our good times, memories of rewarding friendships, and memories of invaluable experiences as students at Clifton Springs High School.
