HOWARD W. SMITH, District Principal Dear Students, As we observe you passing to classes in temporary quarters in the garage as we see library usage limited because of space; as we curtail expansior of some educational programs, since most classrooms are already in multiple use; as we plan almost to the minute the time you must enter and leave the cafeteria in order to enable all students to have lunch, we feel justly proud of a staff and student body dedicated to maintaining a highly successful school despite adverse physical conditions. I extend my congratulations to you, and join with you in hope that your patience and concern for good education will be rewarded. When the Class of 1965 entered Kindergarten in 1952, the enrollment of the Junior-Senior High School was 309. When you entered Seventh Grade in 1959, it was 412. In the current year we have reached a plateau of 587. This growth in student population presents a renewed challenge to all, particularly as we continue with limited facilities, to recognize the rights of others and the responsibilities of our own. May we think of the Four-Way Test as we attempt to meet our challenges: Is it the Truth? Is it Fair to all concerned? Will it build Goodwill and Better Friendships? Will it be Beneficial to all concerned? 2 Sincerely, Howard W. Smith
