They have set the record for the Finger Lakes B-C League with 25 straight victories, before suffering a defeat. This streak was started by Coach Dick Kishlar, former member of C.S.C.S. faculty and was carried on this year successfully by Coach John Clark. As this book goes to press, Clifton is on the pullman heading for East Rochester to defeat North Rose in the quarter final playoff. By now you must know the results. 37 baseball Seated: J.Hotchkiss, C.DeCook, J.Phillips, J.Olshewske, R.Lee, G.Landschoot, D.Ostrander, H.Reals, W.Landschoot Standing: D.Love, J.Wheat, B.Randolph, W.Hunter, Coach Doherty, L.Schmitt, R.Button, R.DeCook, W.Eikner Paseball Schedule 1951-52 Clifton----6 Naples--------5 Clifton----8 Gorham--------15 Clifton---12 Middlesex-----b Clifton----3 Victor--------8 Clifton----2 Bloomfield----1 Clifton---18 Honeoye-------0 Clifton----b Phelps--------2 Clifton----2 Red Jacket----0 Clifton----7 Lima----------0 Clifton----2 Arkport-------1 Clifton----b Red Creek-----1 1952 Baseball Champs - Section V The 1952 Clifton Springs Central School Baseball team won its second consecutive C league championship in sehool annuals. Coach George Doherty s boys dropped two early season contests - one to Gorham and one to Victor before winning 6 in a row to end up with a 9-2 record. Highlighting the league season was a 2-0 win over Red Jacket, a team which had been undefeated in three years of league play. The pitching of Harry Reals, and Dick Button s one-on home run won this one. In the semi-finals of the sectionals against Lima, Reals pitched a one hit shut-out and had three hits. In an eleven inning thriller at Red Wing Stadium in Rochester, Dick Button's single won the game after Don Cummings and John Griswold had tied it in the seventh. In the finals, at Red Wing Stadium also, Clifton downed Red Creek, M—l, behind Reals again. Reals allowed just 2 runs in three sectional games, striking cut U5. 38 f ootb Row Is D Love, J.Peisher, H.Reals, A.Landscboot, J.Olschewske H.Tarapel, R.Kommer Row 2: Coach Doherty, G.Wheeler, B.Randolph, W.Landschoot, R.Powell C.Bremer, J.Phillips, R.Lee, D.Owen Row 32 C.DeCook, L.Schmitt, W.Hunter, J.Wheat, T.Wheat, W.Eikner M.Clement 39 will we ever forget 7 ?
