Mr. Childs FRESHMAN CLASS HISTORY The 69 members of the freshman class began their high school career by electing the following classmates to lead them during their first year at Clifton High: Allan Baker, president; Leon Aguinaga, vice-president; Cherry Overall, secretary; Max Martinez, treasurer. The class participated actively in many of the high school activities including the yearbook, school pa per and band. Freshman Initiation Day, a very important event to these fledglings, took place on September 10. The cheerfulness of the year was marred by the sudden death of a fellow classmate, Johnny Garza. His friendship will remain a treasured memory to the class of 1958. Mrs. Stella Cosper and Mr. George Childs, our class sponsors, have been most helpful in guiding these new members of the Clifton High School student body. — 28 —
