CAPTAIN TOM STEVEN FELLIN COMMANDING OFFICER USS CLEVELAND (LPD 7) Captain Tom S. Fellin was bom in Denver. Colorado. He is ; graduate of Fort Lewis College at Durango. Colorado and entered the Nav; through Aviation Officer Candidate School. He was commissioned ii February and was designated a Naval Flight Officer in August 1971. Captain Fellin assumed command of USS CLEVELAND (LPD 7) ii July 1 993 and led the ship through turnaround training and a deployment ii 1994 which included operations in the Indian Ocean and Arabian Gulf. His aviation squadron assignments were Attack Squadrons 165, 95 and 1 96 flying the A-6 Intruder. He commanded V A- 1 96 and led the squadro through an operationally intensive deployment in 1 987 during which the fin re flagged tanker escort operations. Earnest Will , took place in the Arabia Gulf. His other sea tour assignments include serving on the staff o Commander Carrier Group SEVEN, and at Air Wing ELEVEN as Deput Wing Commander. Captain Fellin ' s most significant shore duty assignment was on the stai at the office of the Chief of Naval Operations as the Director of Technics Support Group. Previous shore duty assignments were Medium Attac Tactical Electronic Warfare Wing as Flag Secretary, and other Aviatio assignments at Naval Weapons Center China Lake, California, and Naval A Stafion Point Mugu, California. Captain Fellin has acc umulated over 3,500 flight hours in the A- Intruder. His awards include the Legion of Merit, Meritorious Servic Medal, Navy Commendation Medal with two gold stars. Navy Achievemer Medal, and various other naval campaign and service awards.

Lieutenant Commander Schloemann graduated from the Universit) of Missouri-Columbia 1977 with a bachelor ' s degree m Finance and Banking. Lieutenant Commander Schloemann received his commission via Officer Candidate School in 1980 and was ordered to USS CHMO.VD K. TL ' RNER ( CG 20 1 as Damage Control .Assistant. His first depanment head tour w as aboard USS JOHN .A. MOORE FG 19) as Ship Control Officer. His second depanment head tour was onboard USS TRIPOLI (LPH 10) as First Lieutenant where made rw o Western Pacific deplo Tnents. From November 1989 to Februar 1992. Lieutenant Commander Schloemann was a Department Head School instructor at the irface Warfare Officer s School. Newport, Rhode Island, teaching .Amphibious VSarfare and First Lieutenant curricula. Following his ur as a Department Head School instructor. Lieutenant Commander Schloemann was selected for foreign senice in 1 992 and assigned the staff of Standing Naval Forces .Atlantic ( ST.AN.ANTORL.ANT). an afloat N.ATO command, as the .Anti-.Air Warfare Officer Departing ST.AN, ' .A TORL. NT. Lieutenant Commander Schloemann reported onboard USS MOBILE ( LKA 1 1 5 1 as E.xecutive fficer in August 1 993 . He reorted aboard USS CLEN ' EL.ANT) ( LPD ) as E.xecutive Officer in Februar% 1 994.
