CLEMSON FORENSIC UNION . The Clemson Forensic Union is the coordinating body for the University ' s forensics activities. The Union is a combination of the Calhoun Forensic Society, Delta Sigma Rho - Tau Kappa Alpha (National Forensic Honorary), the Student Speaker ' s Service, and the intercollegiate debate teams. The Union ' s activities include participation in campus, community, and inter- collegiate programs. The Calhoun Forensic Society, Clemson ' s oldest student organization, sponsors the Union ' s campus activi- ties. In 1972-1973, these included: the Speech Night contest, competition for the Trustees Medal, a parlia- mentary procedure workshop for student leaders, and a series of on- campus platform debates with Virginia (Homecoming), Harvard, Princeton, and British debaters from Oxford. Members of DSR-TKA and the intercollegiate debate team traveled to eighteen tournaments during the 1972-1973 season. Clemson was re- presented by debate teams in tourna- ments from Florida to Illinois and from Mississippi to Massachusetts dur- ing this school year. Union members also participated in several individual events contests in 1972-1973 entering events such as Discussion (Clemson was 2nd in the National Discussion Contest Finals in 1972), oratory, per- suasive speaking, after dinner speak- ing, oral interpretation, and extempo- raneous speaking. The Union sent members to a Read- ers Theatre Festival in Miami and sponsored a delegation to the National Model United Nations at Harvard dur- ing the academic year. The Student Speaker ' s Service was initiated during the spring semester, and it sponsored programs at a number of local schools and com- munity organization meetings.

CANTERBURY ASSOCIATION The Clemson University Canterbury Association is a student group affiliated with the Holy Trinity Episcopal Church. Canterbury ' s purpose is to promote friendly communication among its members and to participate in service in the community-local and world wide. We are all interested in getting together to discuss problems that we see in the world around us that affect us as participants in that world. We try to relate to each other ' s problems, understand them, and together try to find solutions to these problems. We do not preach religion, but just try to find better ways to get along with our fellow man. The Clemson University Canterbury Association while it exists primarily for the Episcopal students at Clemson, is open to members of all religions. CECELIA WHITTEN, President In communion with one another We lift our masks to see The true person behind that face Expressing himself seemingly. Anxieties, frustrations, anything at hand We try to give a listening ear To help and understand. The atmosphere is both heavy and light. And hardy laughter sometimes we might. The depth of friendship is left up to you. The decision is yours — whatever you do.
