INI) WE I HIS is a candid view of the place in which we study and sleep and live. The first barracks was the first one here. It is the center of all cadet activity — the guardroom, the guestroom, the barber shop, and the nucleus of brigade ad- ministration. Crossing the gangplank we find the second barracks under which is the familiar clothing room. A little further on across another gangplank is the majestic third barracks, facing the Calhoun Mansion. These three build- ings compose the group which we call the old barracks. It wasn ' t long before our school had expanded to the extent that more and more room was needed. LIVE III] RE grew the quadrangle group, t hose four buildings back of the first barracks. The band seemed to settle in the sixth and stuck there. This expansion caused the construc- tion of temporary barracks which be- came known to us as the Barn. This was the little building pushed in behind the second barracks. Then came our crowning glory — the Waldorf-Astoria. This was the eighth and last to be built. and within these four brick walls is half of college education and military training. We learn to get along and maintain barracks discipline.
