lVlany changes were made to Clearwater High School and other Pinellas County Schools. One of the biggest topics of conversation in the beginning of the year was the updated dress code. Changes that affected most CHS students were the banning of flip-flops, hats and scarfs. Deans became coed along with P.E. classes. Another unwelcome change was the return of mandatory exams. We were all treated as equals under the Code of Stu- dent Conduct, which contained all this information and became our bible. Our school began renova- tions during the summer. Jack White Stadium was livened up when the Alumni Association painted it red and gray and flags were installed along the top of the wall. Ramps replaced just about every stair in the school to aid in the transporta- tion of the handicapped. The bus loading area also found a new home along the south side of F-wing. The dressing room- rest rooms at the pool were fin- ished and a new parking area paved adjacent to them. And for months the painters were every- where, painting everything that didn't move -- except other painters on break. 4 X OPENING QTOPJ Summer practice is a real workout for Mark QLEFD Fernando Lopez marks with precision Wheless. KABOVEJ Coed P.E. was a real knockout.
