Delta Epsilon Phi consisted of students excelling in the German language by maintaining a 3.5 grade point average in German, or a 3.0 overall average. Jim Bag- gett, known as Herr Baggett to his classes, sponsored the Soci- ety. Three Tornado stage and con- cert band members were com- mended for their performances. Paul Buczinski was chosen forthe All-State concert band and All- County stage band for trombone. All-County concert band also included Jamie Steffens, for trom- bone, and Sanfield Forseth, for tuba, in their 1978 honors. MJRCTC l-lcquirzd Rzcoqnition MJROTC had many honors given to their unit this year. Barry Roeper received the Reserve Association Medal, the highest reward a cadet can achieve. John Williams was awarded the Military Order of World War Medals, Sandy John- son the Sons of American Revolution Medal and Michelle Gross the Sojour- ner's Medal. The Women's Marines Association selected Barbara Fields for their yearly award. Three honors were given by the American Legion for Scho- lastic Excellence. Anna Francis won the gold, Margarette Mourna received the sil- ver and Nicholas Paulas the bronze medal. This same association awarded gold, silver and bronze medals for Mili- tary Excellence to Robert McCall, Eric Compton, and William Pray, respectively.
