As Clearwater continued to grow through 1977-78, many new proposals received public atten- tion of the city. Court Street became State Road 60 as Cleve- land Street was to be turned into a downtown mall. The referendum on a new civic center and library was defeated, but the need contin- ues and the issue was far from dead. The Orange Peel Disco opened f its doors to the public, while Jr.'s iclosed theirs. Waterslide World land Waterboggan began doing a E slick bit of business. Heritage Park in Seminole lopened its historical grounds iwhich included the lVlclVlullen Log lCabin and the House ot Seven Gables, both moved from Clear- water. A unity evolved with every- one working to uphold Tornado Pride. Clubs took time out from selling buttons, candy, and rib- bons to initiate new members.
