QABOVEJ Gary Stere prepares to shoot a Clear- Iight picture. QRIGHTJ Peter Frampton excites the audience in Orlando. 6 OPENING :smart --ff--??4-..,....+,,q,.. 7 Students seemed to be inde- pendent when it came to after- school hours. Many worked to support The Car while some just worked for extra money. Others had hours of practice for band, Tornadoettes athletics or drama l MA myriad of performers came l ,through the Bay area with their l music. Some ofthem were Peter Frampton, Kansas, Doobie Broth- ers, Jethro Tull, and Heart. Lynyrd Skynyrd performed at St. Peters- l .burg's Bayfront Center just four days prior to the band's fatal air- plane crash. Other tragic head- lines told us of the deaths of the King of Rock, Elvis Presley, at the age of 42 and the venerable Bing Crosby. Weekends were filled with try- ing to get a tan, picnics, or catch- ing up on homework. The most popular question of the year was Have you heard of any parties this weekend? lVlcDonalds remained the popular meeting spot for many.
