Dear Students: The faculty and staff wish you a profitable and enjoyable stay in Clearwater Senior High School. We, as well as you, know there has to be a lot of hard work involved if it is to be profitable. Also, true enjoyment comes from a job well done. You have a challenge before you. This land is your heritage. It offers you freedom, opportunity and well-being. Its constitution and institutions represent the finest work man has accomplished with all his experiments in government. It is today the last fortress of freedom in the world. Guard it well, for it is being threatened by force from without as well as weakness, selfishness and disunity from within. The one outstanding lesson the present crisis of the human race is that man must relearn humility, reverence and spiritual faith. Our democracy depends upon an informed and participating citizenry. The American school system provides the opportunity for all to be informed. If you, the trustees of posterity, the hope of the future, carry out in letter and in spirit your obligation for your heritage, we will not have to worry about the losing of our American way of life.
