The pride of learning to make budgets, to buy meats, to Initiation cook a dinner and serve it can be compared only to the benefit derived from learning to identity textiles, to select appropriate styles, to cut the materials accurately and to sew neatly and care- fully. Homernaking is one of the most practical classes in school. Mrs. Lewis and Mrs. Diekman combine their skill and guide the F.H.A.'s this year in the radio program, the County Fair exhibits, the District VI meeting in St. Petersburg, and in being hostesses to the F.H.A. This year the highlight ot the Masque and Gavel club was OUR TOWN, Thornton Wilder's well-known play, with Pat Greenwood play- ing the part of Emily. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed working with Mr. Van Gorder, the director and adviser. C.H.S. was represented at the Speech Contest in Lakeland this year by members ot Masque and Gavel. KEY CLUB BEAUTIFICATION 0F SCHOOL BY LANDSCAPE. mu' 'ii FIRST ROW: Charles Smith, John Taylor, Alan Heidt, Taver Cornett, Joe Alexander, Tom Muller, Stan Bates, Walter Brittain, Barry Delphin, Jim D'Anna, Ronnie Yowell, Dick Estes, Bob Man, Tommy Moore, Bob Handley, SECOND ROW: Bill Whipple, Roger Ashley, Don Serahn, Raymond Raines, Norman Alexander, Raymond Harte, Peter DeSoto, Mike Grade, Dan Walbolt, Jim Hammock, Watt Clark, Robert Cohrs, Service projects for both school and community comprised the year's activities for the Key Club whose membership was limited to thirty selected key boys. The main project ot the Key Club for the past two years has been to landscape our new school, which makes C.H.S. very proud ot the boys and their landscaping. The Key Club constitution is modeled after that ot the Ki- wanis Club, its father organization. Under the leadership ot Mr. Stephan, this club is concerned chiefly with developing poten- tial leadership and good will through the Clearwater High School. Bob Suban, Wayne Bolton.
