Usually the only time they think about us is when they have to pay for those forgotten books. Our chores consist mainly of helping everyone. To help, we keep the library neat and quiet, arrange all books in their proper places and, when asked, direct people to certain books. We also have meetings and conventions to attend. In May we have a convention in Leesburg and there are county meetings twice a year. See, we do other things beside collect money. Librarian Mrs. Knight and her helper, George Shafer, go about their daily duty of check- ing in and out b ooks.

This year we, the members of Audio-Visual, hove hod a much easier job. There is no need to move the movie equipment from one room to another because we have one especially equipped room in which to show most of the movies. We sent several members to state con- vention. Then, there are our county meetings which we attend four times a year. Unlike many clubs, we do not have regularly scheduled meetings and only call a meeting in an emergency or to make pre- parations for special programs. We are assembling a program to pro- vide the best In service to all teachers and activities. 18

Amorous Amigos To give a real Spanish flavor to our meeting we invited Pepe, the Mexican guest of Audrey Flohe. We all look forward to Los Gauchos meetings. There are thirty of us and we meet in the homes of members. Minutes, roll, and much of the business conducted in the meetings is in Spanish. Sometimes we play games and sing songs in the language. At Eastertime we sold lilies to raise money for crippled children and during the Christmas season we gave a party for children at the Community Pride Nursery. We think the highlight of the entire year Is the banquet in May where the food, decorations, and entertainment are Spanish. Our motto is: Quien much duerme, poco aprende! (He who sleeps much, learns little!) 20
