We, The Students Speak. We, the students of C.H.S., through the Student Council, the Inter Club Council and the Senate were able to express our desires to moke the school better. We asked the student government for an honor roll, green benches, and a schedule to go to lunch and we got these things. Through a democratic government we the students speak. The meeting will now come to order and all student council Mitchell, Cornelia Barnum, David Martens, Sally Bacon, James members are ready for business, left to right are Montine Clark, Beverly Rippard, Miss Lois Arnold, Dade Flemings, Frances Pennington, Effa Jo Bacon, Dick Whiting, Janet McMullen, Herby Moore, and Patti Campbell. The Peoples Choice Our Student Council is the king pin in our student government. Those of us who are officers were elected by you students but also we have the ' top brass of the major organizations of the school. Our group includes such persons as the presidents of ICC, Senate, and Senior, Junior, and Sophomore classes and editors of the annual and the paper. This year In our new school we could have used more than our one meeting a week with all the problems we had. We also handled school pictures, managed Home- coming, supervised school-wide elections, and published the student handbook. 12 1
