1 I' J'0lllV5'UV ..4r- any I am forever Walking upon these shores Betwixt the sand and the foam. The high tide will erase my foot-prints, And the wind will blow away the foam. But the sea and the shore will remain forever. -Kahil Gibren ' 4 Dscficczfiorz We, the senior class of 1946, dedicate our lives, through this book, to the reach- ing of a true ambition. A shining goal, not the petty greeds of Wealth or tarnished fame. For these false ideals will crumble as castles built of sand, and be washed into the sea by the ever-singing tides. Yet these same tides will pack the sand and leave a white and shining path along the beach of life, and far ahead will be that pure, unreached, unstained goal that each of us has set, the true ambition for which we strive, toward which We Walk between 'rho sand and foam. With a backfield of such stars as Nor- man Chief Eubanks, said to be the best high school passer to hit Phillip's Field, and Wally Blackburn, and a line with Art Chesnut, Dick Flammer, Bobbie Watts, and Sammy Hyman, the Tornadoes gave some of their opponents a hard fight. COACH JAKE WEGER The new head coach at C. H. S. this year is Jake Weger, formerly of the Chi- cago Bears, professional football team. He came to Clearwater from Logansport, In- diana, where he was head coach of the football team and assistant coach of the basketball and track teams. Sullivan, Bobby Watts. Second Row: Glenn, Allen, Norman Eubanks, Bobby Koch, Marvin Moore. OUR C. H. S. BAND This year the C. H. S. Band, under the able direction of Prof. Rocco Grella, has played for all the home football games, has given interesting chapel programs. It also participated in the State Music Festi- val, The Festival of States Parade and many city and county events. Dwane Cop- pedge, led the band members in formation drills on the gridiron. Professor Grella, who has been teaching music in Clearwater High School for seventeen years, is retiring this year. He taught music in The University of Ken- tucky before coming here. For many years he had a professional band of his own. The Aqua Clara Staff regrets that a picture of the band was not available this year for publication.
