Sjioxt of 1 943 Looking over the past season we see that the Crimson Tornadoes have enjoyed the best season in a decade. The thundering Tornados gaining momentum as the season progressed, plowed through the entire season suffering only one de- feat; that at the hands of Plant Panthers in a hard fought battle. The Tornados were deprived of the Big Ten football title when they were edged out by Hillsboro in the final tabulation. The Pinellas County Football Title is again in the possession of the Tornadoes by virtue of a 7-6 victory over the strong Pt. Ppfe Green Devils in the annual Thanksgiving Day classic. Outstanding on this years team and winning state wide recognition are: Harry Hancock, allstate center; Hank Moore, second team allstate fullback; Buddy Daw- son. second team allstate end; Bobby Forbes, honorable mention allstate wingback. After the season was under way- it was evident that the Tornadoes were lacking something as they lost a number of p-ames by narrow margins. It seemed as if they could not get on the winning track nnd muster the final punch to win. After a very unsuccessful season in pre-tournament play, the Tornadoes did equally bad in tournament competition. The outstanding player and constant high scorer in every game was lanky John Chestnut, allstate center and the only player to win any acclaim. Schedule iponent Place C.H.S. Opp. Opponent Place C.H.S.
