omnibus club this club was formed with the purpose of stimulating interest in public speaking, de- bating, literature and hobbies. activities have been varied. they consisted of hobby talks by members of the club and a mock murder trial which was conducted by the club in court room style. the club officers are: president-burr randall secretary-jessie mae griffin adviser-mrs. edna knapp debating club the first and third period classes formed debating clubs this year with very excellent results. the first period class debated on should electric utilities be govermentally owned and operated? a murder trial was also held and conducted by the able help of a loc- al lawyer, mr. nichols. president of the first period class was eddye burleson. president of the third period class was jimmie wilder. burr randall wins balfour honor if you will look in the hall of the senior high school you will see above the trophy case a tablet. you will notice the first name on it is burr j. randall, jr. burr won this award for his scholarship, loyalty and a- chievement during his high school years. the teachers voted him this honor. he will also receive a pin to keep. the balfour co. has made possible this award and it is to be annually given. dramatic club a dramatic club was organized this spring by mrs. knapp and eric picker. two one act plays went into rehearsal immediately and were presented to the student body in a cha- pel program. the plays were light comedies and were received enthusiastically by the students. the members of the club can be c.ertain they have done something to be proud of. the director, eric picker, was proud too. f. l. s. club . the f. l. s. club of the y. w. c. a. was organ- ized for the purpose of creating a friendlier relationship among girls in the senior high school and to give them an opportunity for development and self-expression. the name designates the purpose of faith, loyal- ty, and service. the purpose is carried out at weekly monday night meetings in inter- esting and constructive programs. the group is led by a council of twelve girls, represen- tative of each high school grade, among whom are the officers. this year's executives are mary worts, president, virginia alley, vi3e-president, jeanne clarkson, secretary, ione donaldson, treasurer, and mary wilcox, program chairman.
