fzeasufze memoties Awake dear Senior Class, our day has dawned The day for which we all have longed. We started out twelve years ago, Not realizing how fast they would go. Each year we learned something more, Of the earth's wonders galore. Some things we learned we like to boast, Others we just like to hold close. Fun, we've had that too, By doing things we were taught to do. Grade school days now are o'er, In High School we must study more. With fifty two on our roll, The bell for our ninth year did toll. Something new had been added now, Basketball we learned to play and howl We worked very hard and at last, Our ninth year had passed. To the tenth grade, oh happy day But we had lost some on the way Even so, we've got our goal, The Daisy Chain for the Seniors we must To the eleventh grade now look our way, We got our class rings today. And now the day is here, As the Senior Class we fill so near. We've learned to love each other dear, Their memories will always be near. 've not forgot, ot, being our friends, to the end. But our teachers we We owe them such a l For teaching us and For sticking with us Now to Dear Old Clayton High, We must say goodby. Some of us will laugh, some will cry, hold But in this world to do our best, we'll try. Betty Jean Harper Class Poet
