IDIQODHECY The citizens of Clayton, N. C. never dreamed that the class of 1950 would hold such distinguished positions in this modern world. Ray Parker is busy these days hauling Bobby Poole's basketball trophies around the world. What a surprisel Ann Duncan has turned out to be a scientist and she's now head of the Atomic Power Commission. After graduating from Wake Forest College and Harvard University, Alice Mahaffey is editor of the Life Magazine. What's this I see? Bobby Chatham is headLaboratory Technician at Walter Reed Hospital and Marie Bridges, his devoted assistant, prisses in every two minutes to see if she can hold a rat for himl My, Myl Clifton Bagley, a prosperous millionaire, lives at the Waldorf- Astoria in New York. He can be found any tirne at his suite, drinking champagne and thinking seriously of the future. Before you take a ride in Ione's taxi, be sure your life is insured because none other than Grace Crabtree is the new driver. Genevieve Holder is still driving that red truck, but things are a bit differ- ent now. The whole back end is full of little Pollards. Izmagine Hazel Harrison going to the Baptist Theological Seminary! She's learning how to be a preacher's wife. Judy Canova should feel honored. Lynwood Hobbs has signed a contract with her stating that he writes all jokes for her programs. Oh, nol Herman Vinson, the Seniors' pride and joy, has joined the Salvation Army. He can be seen every day at the corner of Walgreen's begging for money. You know, Mumbles was always good at asking for things. For the latest gossip call telephone operator Braxine Trulove. She declares that she hates gossip so bad she's always ready to give it away. Uh-oh, the life-long friendship between Margaret Truman and Rosa Belle Byrd has finally collapsed. Margaret states that Miss Byrd has cheated her out of the opera Carmen that opens in New York soon. Rex Hospital is in a wreck, because Margaret Ellis has left her position as head-nurse to become Russia's No. 1 ballet dancer. Charles Stevens is still going to Carolina. He seems mixed upin his courses. One year he studies pharmacy and the next ---- Betsy. .Tulia Knott, world famous decorator, is having a busy time up in Washington. She is re-decorating the White House for President Rudolph Allen. Duke's wonderful basketball coach, Blanton Jones is mighty proud of his re- cord this year. In all the games his team has played, they have been extreme- ly successful --------- in losing. ' At the Memorial Auditorium next week, Nell Myers co-stars with Oscar Levant in a piano recital! Who ever thought that Roy Coats and Laura Jones would be married in less than two months after school was out? They're living in Quebec, Canada and sending their children to the school, in which Faye Gulley is principal. Annette Garris and Betty Edwards are content living here in Clayton after sailing around the world hunting for their treasure ---- a manl And so, my good friends, thus ends the adventurous prophecy of the Seniors of '50, Prophet, Cherrie Beddingfield

To think in a few days we'd be leaving grade eight. Our last days in Grammar would soon be o'er, And we were soon to learn what High held in store. Miss Spears taught us our first year in High. With a teacher like that you were sure to get by. Basketball that year was our greatest aim, With Hollowell and Crutchfield you could not complain. Tho work that year seemed harder than before, Each one of us declared to become a Sophomore. Mr. Crutchfield, our tenth grade teacher was mean Those times when he gave us a thousand word theme! Paying tribute to the Seniors that year was a thrill, But we shall always remember making Alite ill. Miss Gravely came to teach us grade eleven To be a .Tunior was like being in heaven. There was the play and the banquet to give. To Clayton Miss Gravely brought a husband to live! Finally the greatest of all years arrived at last, It's hard to believe it's gone by so fast. With Miss Reel our leader, Young, and Majette, McMillan and Golden were quite a good bet. And with the help of Mr. Welch all along the way, Through our hardships and laughter, through work and through play. Now that tirne has come for us to depart, Sadness dwells within our hearts, This is all we can say of our class up to date, But are hoping our future will be happy and great.
