CLASS H ISTG QV We, the seniors of Old Clayton High with our hearts full of hope And with heads lifted high, think back to the day when We first entered schoolg how Miss Gulley would scold Us for breaking a rule! The next year found us with Miss Blackmore. She taught us folk dances by the score. In our third year Miss Martin gave us a thrill, Whenever she and Miss Marshall did the Virginia-Reel! Now that fourth year of school we shall never forget, As we walked in her room we were in a cold sweat. We were jittery all over and our knees were like sauce, And who wouldn't have been, the teacher's name was Miss Crossl Miss Uzzle, a new teacher in Clayton, taught us our fifth. She worked us so hard and we passed with such thrift, That we left Whit and Jimmy lagging behind, But they were so dumb, they didn't seem to mind. In that sixth year, the boys turned their minds from the teachers, And began to realize that girls were really nice creatures. With the help of Miss Smith, we finally pulled through, On up to the seventh, all went but a few. We were greeted, as our teacher Miss Floyd called the roll. And from that day forward She taught self-control. The next year Mrs. Gulley taught in our class. Tho it was hard we managed to pass. We were nervous, excited, and could hardly wait,
