Hie thought of finishing filled their minds as they ran for hours, it seemed. Running through fields, across bridges, and through the final chute mainly comprised each race. Two important runners this year were Alan Uphold and Jeff Croy. Alan competed in the state meet, but didn’t do quite as well as his first place finishes at home. Young team preps for next season This year’s grade school baseball team had a fairly even season with a 3-6 overall record. The team will graduate only two of their 28 players. The top five hitters all came from the seventh grade with top batter being Shane Carder. We will miss the all-round play of Stan Royer, who moved to Effingham. He can do it all,” said Coach Patridge.
