Open house once again brought out many parents. Each year it gives them the opportunity to visit the various classrooms, view their children’s work, and discuss any questions they may have with the teachers. This allows the parents to have a better understanding of what their children are being taught. All classrooms were open and there were table displays set up in the gym as well. Thus, the open house takes parents back into the world of books, homework, tests — in other words, schoolwork. a Grade school open house draws interested parents b a. A cheerful smile from Mr. Sloan encourages parents as well as students, b. Parents get a chance to see students' textbooks, c. A look of pride comes over the Davises as they see their daughters' work. d. Mrs. Todd explains her students' classwork to attentive parents. 16

new and old events draw crowds of all ages. d a. The high school coun consisted of Kahla Noll, Lisa Mosely, 1978 Queen Gcrri Foreman, Georgians Burkett, and 1977 Queen Jan Hosselton. b. Rod Franklin sits in the dunking machine and hopes no os is a good shot. c. The crowd enjoys the refreshments, d. Trombones bos it up. c. The Pep Band plays a jazzy number. 15

Grade schoolers spook unsuspecting spectators Halloween is a time for the scariest goblins, ghosts, and other spooks to make themselves known and lurk the most unexpected areas. The grade school showed that even the sweetest youngster could be transformed into the most horrid creature on spook day. The band party turned out a frightening success with every instrumental varmint showing up, maybe to win a prize for their ugliness. The younger spooks paraded through town trying to scare people who never knew what was going to jump out from a bush or dark corner and screech Boo”. But please don’t blame the youngsters, for even the administration became spooks for a day. e a. Grade schoolers spook band Halloween party. b. Faculty take a pan in Halloween festivities, c. Mrs. Hossclton wipes a wet face after bobbing for apples, d. Paradcrs wait impatiently for the parade to begin, c. Colorful costumes brighten the Halloween activities. 17
