The rating of Clay City high school is due, in no small measure, to the efforts and foresight of Principal Shafer. He is ever striv- ing for students to realize the importance of education. He maintains that there is always a place in the world for the well- educated person. His extensive training, great store of experience, democratic attitude, and charming personality all make him the broad-minded principal that he is. Upon his shoulders rests the responsibility of guiding youth in their educational program. BOARD OF EDUCATION 'B' The student body would like to take this opportunity to show their appreciation of the work done by the Board of Education towards making the Clay City Community high school one of the best in southern Illinois. The seniors who are leaving this year will try to use the training they have received to bring honor to C-CCHS.
